Koroscil to Retire from John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport 

HAMILTON – After heading up John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport for eight years, Richard Koroscil is stepping down as president and chief executive officer of TradePort International, a subsidiary of Vantage Airport Group (previously Vancouver Airport Services). He will retire at the end of February.

Ron Foxcroft, chairman of the Board of Directors of TradePort International, said he was pleased that Koroscil agreed to continue to work with Vantage Airport Group and TradePort on a part-time consulting basis for the next two years.    “Richard has been a huge asset to the airport and to the community at large,” Foxcroft said.

“Richard has improved relationships with municipal, provincial and federal governments, forged successful partnerships with air carriers, introduced the first Airport Summit, re-branded the airport and initiated a collaborative style within the business community and among airport stakeholders,” Foxcroft said. “He’s both well respected and well liked.”

Koroscil, 59, said he’s leaving with mixed feelings. “I’ve been in the aviation industry for 36 years. It has been wonderful, but it’s time for me to adjust the pace and spend more time with family and in the community. I almost hesitate to call it retirement, because I intend to be very active, but most likely at something that doesn’t necessitate a full-time commitment.”

Koroscil has been a prominent figure in Hamilton’s community life, serving on the boards of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, McMaster Institute of Transportation and Logistics and Theatre Aquarius. He is also a member of the Hamilton Immigration Partnership, chair of the Southern Ontario Gateway Council, and on the boards of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, Metrolinx and TransHub Ontario.

The TradePort Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Frank Scremin to the role of President and CEO.  Frank currently holds the position of Director, Operations at Hamilton International Airport and will assume his new role on March 1, 2012.

John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport is owned by the City of Hamilton and operated by TradePort International on behalf of its parent company, Vantage Airport Group.
