I would like to know if there are still flights from Manchester UK into Hamilton Airport, if so, please could you let me know which airlines they are.

    Many thanks

    Hello Jean,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

Unfortunately, we do not currently have direct flights to Manchester. However, the UK is among our most popularly requested destinations and so we continue to work with the airlines to re-establish flights as soon as we can.

From a convenience stand-point, HI is/was a fantastic alternative to flying to the UK. Like Jean, I would LOVE for you to re-establish links with the UK (either Manchester or my preferred, Gatwick). Please, please try to re-establish a POP for UK international flights. I HATE (with a passion) Pearson Airport. Its a pain to get to and get away from.

    Cheers,

    Russ

As a frequent user of Hamilton Airport for both business and pleasure travel, I was somewhat disappointed with WestJet’s decision to curtail some of its domestic service from Hamilton during the winter season. I understand this is a business decision and the service will be returning in the summer of 2011, but driving to Pearson in winter and using that unfriendly airport is not a good alternative. Perhaps next winter West Jet can consider an alternative days flight schedule to some of their domestic destinations. I am also hoping Hamilton is considering alternative flights to Montreal. When this service was available, I used it frequently and can not recall a flight when load factors were an issue. Of course, and I am sure you are working on it, a connection to a US hub would be great for business travel.

  5. Hello Bill,
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. Your comments and suggestions help us to address your concerns so that we can ensure your experience with hi is the best it can be.

Regarding changes in service, we too were disappointed with WestJet’s decision but understand the reasons behind it – this has been one of the most difficult economic times in aviation. However, we are always looking forward and to new routes; Montreal is one of our most requested domestic routes and we are working hard with WestJet and with other airlines to provide this valuable service to the local community. Other top target routes include a US hub and a range of leisure destinations, such as Florida, the Caribbean and Europe.

I’m glad your experiences with hi have been favourable. We strive to provide a friendly, convenient, hassle-free airport experience and will continue to work towards providing business travelers more options for flights out of Hamilton.

    Sincerely,
    Adrianne Sprogis

I would like to enquire if restoring flights to Ottawa from Hamilton figures in the priority list for HI. Westjet, Air Canada and Porter currently service the Toronto-Ottawa sector with a good number of flights everyday. However, as many others have already mentioned, travelling through Pearson is a pain. HI will be able to attract a good number of passengers from Pearson, given how much time can be saved from flyiing out of HI. Also, would anyone be able to remind us of the reasons why flights in this sector were cancelled in the past. Many thanks. A Varu.

  7. Thank you for your comments. We continually strive to provide travelers with a friendly, hassle-free experience saving our passengers much valued time. We are committed to realizing the long-term growth potential of Hamilton International Airport and we will continue to pursue all opportunities to develop the Airport to better serve our community. In the case of Ottawa, services were withdrawn due to a change in strategic direction by the airline. While it was a disappointing decision for our passengers and for the Airport, Ottawa is still one of our more requested routes; we are working with several airlines to develop this and other routes to provide more options for flights out of Hamilton.
