Community Matters
John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport strongly believes in the importance of community involvement and social giving. Annual involvement in local events, charitable causes, and educational development allow hi show its passion for Hamilton and the greater community. Hamilton International Airport is excited to be involved with the following organizations through various avenues:
- hi is committed to involvement with The United Way of Hamilton and Burlington through several projects. Last year Hamilton International Airport sponsored and chaired the 3rd Annual CityQuest, which raised over $20,000. Throughout 2009, and in the future we hope to continue this strong partnership with the United Way.
- Hamilton International Airport is a founding member of the McMaster Institute for Transportation and Logistics (MITL), and continues to be an active supporter of this program. Most recently hi was involved in TRANSLOG 2009, a conference focused on transportation and logistic developments and issues as well as a Transportation Gateway Study for the Hamilton area.
- hi believes in fostering the educational development of young professionals and partners with local high schools, Mohawk College, and McMaster University to offer several co-op opportunities and the development of aviation related programs. We are proud to work with Mohawk College’s Aviation Technician Program and provide both a Bursary and Scholarship for this program.
