Welcome back WestJet!

WestJet’s Domestic Service is back for the Summer!

Monday May 2 marked WestJet’s domestic return to Hamilton International Airport with a slew of flights.  Daily flights to Halifax, Moncton, Winnipeg, Edmonton and, at least twice-daily flights to Calgary, will be offered until the end of October when WestJet will switch service over to warm and toasty sun-destinations!

To celebrate WestJet’s domestic return to Hamilton Airport, we were happy to mingle with passengers and hand out wj cookies2freshly baked shortbread cookies; appropriately printed with one of the WestJet and Hamilton International Airport logo.

On our first day of flights Hamilton Airport was bustling with passengers en route to east coast, west coast or central Canadian destinations. Among our excited passengers we had grandparents visiting their grandchildren, business travelers catching flights for conferences or meetings, our home-town AHL Team the Hamilton Bulldogs flying to Winnipeg for a second round playoff game against the Manitoba Moose (the series is now tied 3-3) and fans who were in town to see Southern Ontario’s first ever UFC match, UFC 129: St. Pierre vs. Sheilds at the Rogers Centre, making their way back home.  In fact, the ecstatic father of one of hi cookies2Canada’s UFC 129 winning fighters was flying back to Edmonton after watching his son win in the octagon Saturday night (Congrats!).

Regardless of who it was flying through Hamilton International Airport, all passengers were happy that Canada flights were back for the summer… and equally as happy to get their hands on a cookie!
