Hamilton International was on the airwaves again this month, featured on the March 19th broadcast of CHML’s “Bill Kelly Unleashed!”

For the better part of the morning, the main concourse in hi’s terminal building had all the equipment, personnel and fanfare of a bona fide radio studio. Did I mention this studio had its own on-site Tim Hortons?! But I digress…

Kicking off at 9 a.m., the 3 hour program was split into 3 panels, each representing a different perspective on the Airport’s past, present and future. Sparking the conversation were hi executives Richard Koroscil, President and C.E.O., Frank Scremin, Director, Operations, and Karen Medweth, Director, Marketing, who discussed the Airport’s past successes, current operations and future objectives. Bill predictably held no punches, probing several key aspects of the Airport’s growth strategy, but the execs remained candid throughout the segment in promoting hi’s long term plans to further grow the Airport’s passenger and cargo services.

In the program’s second hour, Richard stayed on the air and was joined by David Adames, Executive Director of Tourism Hamilton, who shared his expertise on the Airport’s strong partnerships within the Hamilton community, emphasizing the importance of strengthening those relationships going forward. Always a knowledgeable, articulate and engaging speaker, it was a real honour and a treat to have David on the show.

To close the program, Richard was joined by Wade Morrell, V.P and C.F.O of FSM Management Group and Dan Rodrigues, Chair, Transportation Committee (Hamilton Chamber of Commerce), who discussed the Airport’s strong presence within the business community and its continued dominance of the cargo market. With cargo being a major success story for the Airport, even through the economic downturn, Wade’s years of experience in the cargo sector and Dan’s extensive business transportation expertise were valuable and welcomed additions to the program.

Oh, and for the record, I struck out again on my rim roll that morning – TWICE! Am I the only sucker who hasn’t won a free donut yet???
