Do you know what AEGD stands for? Well I didn’t but I do now.  AEGD stands for Airport Employment Growth District. So what exactly is that, you ask?

Well, the Airport Employment Growth District (AEGD) is a proposed development site of approximately 1134 hectares surrounding the Hamilton International Airport. The city has identified the AEGD as one of the main areas to address the city’s need for employment lands. Many studies and ongoing consultations have indicated that developing this area will provide several significant benefits to Hamilton, Ontario including:

• Generate 20,000 – 30,000 new jobs
• Contribute significant additional revenue to Hamilton
• Provide critical support for Hamilton’s infrastructure

Yes more jobs!  Isn’t that exciting in these trying economic times! :-)
