Since I travel through Hamilton Airport whenever possible, I thought I would give you a couple of tips to make it even more enjoyable than it already is.
Whenever possible, I like to check in early for my flight. When traveling on WestJet, I check-in online from home and print my boarding pass so I can avoid the check-in counter completely. Because I usually travel very light – carry-on baggage only – I go straight to the gate.
Now here is a big reminder to all. NO LIQUIDS CAN BE TAKEN THROUGH SECURITY. I can’t believe I’ve done it myself. I forgot about this security rule and had to toss a nice cup of coffee in the garbage to proceed through security screening. You can bring your own food or purchase your food pre-screening, but be sure to wait until you have cleared security and are in the departures lounge before getting something to drink.

Once you’ve cleared security, you can sit back in one of the new comfy leather chairs and really enjoy your cup of java!

You can purchase food and drinks in the departures lounge. There is a Tim Hortons there with a limited food menu but lots of coffee. There is also the Escarpment Lounge and Quiznos for a quick snack and beverage.
With the time you’ll save by checking in online, you can take time to enjoy the retail and duty free shopping. For the kids, there is an area set aside just for them – with activities to enjoy while they wait for their flight.
If you get to the airport really early – remember that you can visit the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum for FREE with your “same-day” boarding pass.

I have enjoyed your vantage point. My experience has shown your views to be true, however I have also seen the opposite from different sites like this one. Do you have any suggestions for finding more quality information on travel tips or related topics? I would most appreciate it!
Hi Lakesha,
Thanks for your feedback. When traveling, it is most important you check travel information provided by the airline you are flying with, as information posted by the airline will most accurately relate to, and reflect, your flight. If you are flying WestJet travel information can be found on their site; http://www.westjet.com, under the ‘Travel Info’ menu option. Hope this leads you to the information you were looking for.
